Keep Your Chat Private With This Secure Group Messaging App

When young people discover the latest hot trends, they love to tell all their friends about it. Sending a message to each friend one by one can take a lot of time, especially if you are a social butterfly with hundreds of friends! Group messages are a good way to spread the information quickly, but just how safe is group messaging?

We are familiar with CoverMe’s secure encrypted private text messages, but did you know that CoverMe also offers secure group messaging? All the features that make CoverMe’s text messages so secure and safe are included for the group messages.
To prevent members of your group chat from spreading your message to others without your consent, you can configure messages to disappear after the recipient has read them. You can send messages that self-destruct immediately after reading or at a scheduled time and you can directly recall a message.
CoverMe’s military-grade encryption algorithm that keeps your text messages private also works for secure group messaging. Only you and your group members can read the message because an encryption key is needed to decode the message and only your recipients have that encryption key. Messages are not saved on CoverMe’s servers, so you don’t have to worry about security leaks.
CoverMe’s gives you two types of secure group messaging . You can start a group chat where any member can send a message and all the other members can read and reply to the message. This option is good for when you’re planning a group event and you want everyone’s input and discussion. The other type of secure group messaging  is a broadcast message where you send a message to many people. All the members see that you are the sender and they can read and reply to your message, but they will not see the replies from other members. This kind of message is good for when you need to send a message to many people but you do not want them to interact with each other.

How to Keep Your Private Message Safe from Text Snoopers?

We spend at least 8 hours of our daily lives at our workplace. During this time, it is only natural that you will sometimes have to send and reply to some personal text messages. Maybe you need to tell your husband to buy some groceries for dinner that night or maybe you need to send a quick text to your mother to remind her to take her medicine.  But did you know that your company can be monitoring all your text
communications? This is especially true if you are using a work issued smartphone.

Companies do have a legal right to monitor your communications on work mobile devices, but sometimes sending a private message is just unavoidable and it becomes an invasion of employees’ rights and privacy.
What can we do to keep our private messages from text snoopers? You can use an encryption app like CoverMe to send secure end-to-end encrypted messages. When you send a private message on CoverMe, it is encrypted and then sent to your recipient who has an encryption key to descramble the message. With CoverMe’s military-grade algorithms, your messages cannot be read by anyone else. Even CoverMe’s programmers are not able to decode your message.
The recipient also needs to have CoverMe app installed on their phone in order for the encryption to work. CoverMe app is available for iPhone and Android phones and is free for download.
Now you can send secure private messages without worrying that someone will be reading them. Of course this is not to say that you should spend your whole day at work sending personal messages! Work is still your priority, but when you need to fire off a quick message to your friends about the meet-up later that night you can do so without worrying that your boss will be spying on you.
Not only does CoverMe app let you send encrypted text messages, but you can also make encrypted phone calls that will not be intercepted and listened in on.

CoverMe Vault App to Hide Your Sexy Photos

Let’s face it, it can happen to any of us. You use your phone to take some pictures of yourself in all your natural glory and then never think twice that the photos are still on your phone. Maybe you are in a long distance relationship and want to send a special pic to your boyfriend or girlfriend. Or maybe you want to take photos of your body to see the progress you are making at the gym. Hey, it’s your phone and you can use it for whatever purpose you want!

The trouble is that your phone is vulnerable to all kinds of people. They could be maliciously trying to find compromising data about you or they could be using your phone for an innocent reason. What if you left your phone unattended for a moment to go to the bathroom and your mother looked through your phone to find that picture you took of the 2 of you on vacation last summer.  Can you imagine how many hours of therapy you (and your mother) would need if she found your sexy naked photos instead?!
Prevent these embarrassing moments by using CoverMe vault app to hide all your private photos, videos, passwords, document and voice recordings.
The encrypted vault app is invisible and completely impenetrable without a password, giving you twice the protection. When you log in to the vault with your main password, you can access all your hidden and encrypted files. If you are using your phone around other people, you can use a decoy password which will open a different area showing only the contacts and messages that you don’t mind others seeing. Even if other people spy on you and discover your decoy password, they will never be able to access your personal vault because only you know your main password.
The files in the vault app are only stored locally on your phone and not on CoverMe’s servers, so you can rest assured that you are the only person who can access your private photos.

How to Hide Your Cell Number

Telemarketing calls are one of the most annoying things that can happen. Imagine you are at home after a long day at work, maybe enjoying dinner with your family or watching your favourite TV show. Then your phone rings. Not knowing if this call is important or not, you run across the room to grab your purse and dig through until you find your phone. Finally answering the call, you are greeted by the rehearsed robotic speech of a telemarketer. You groan, roll your eyes and hang up quickly, but your mood is already spoiled.

So how can we stop these annoying calls? Is there any way to Hide your number from telemarketers? CoverMe has an idea! You could get a private number from CoverMe and use that number in situations where you suspect your number may be used by telemarketers. This could be anytime you fill out surveys, apply for a loyalty card, fill out a product warranty application or enter a contest. Any time you give out your phone number, it can be sold to telemarketers and they will love to call you.

For these situations, you can Hide your number and use  your CoverMe private number. The CoverMe number is just like any real phone number. You can use it to text and call anyone and you can also receive calls and texts. CoverMe supplies real phone numbers for the United States and Canada. Once you start getting calls from telemarketers on this phone number, you can easily terminate it and get a new CoverMe number.
Don’t let pesky telemarketers bother you again, spoil their plans with a disposable CoverMe phone number. Packages for a private number start as low as $6.98 and is a small price to pay to Hide your number.

Secure Password Manager for Your Phone

These days we have so many passwords to remember. We need passwords for email accounts, banking websites, social media accounts, online shopping, just about everything needs a password! The average person needs to log into about 20 different accounts regularly and passwords often have requirements that you need to include numbers, symbols and capital letters. How can we remember so many different complex passwords? Although the experts warn us not to use the same password for all our accounts, most of us are guilty of this little shortcut.

However, reusing the same password for all your accounts carries great risk. If even one of your accounts is hacked, then criminals can get access to all your important accounts, including bank accounts! Or if hackers gain access to your email account then they can use the password reset links on websites to gain control of your other accounts.
A solution to this problem, is to use a secure password manager to store and even generate passwords for you. CoverMe’s encrypted password protected vault includes a password manager for you to store all your passwords.
CoverMe’s secure password manager is organized into 6 categories: ID Cards, Wallet, Web Sites, Accounts, Email, Others.
In ID cards, you can store information like driver’s license, passport and membership cards.  In Wallet, you can save your credit card, debit card, bank account, Paypal and Alipay information. In Website, you can store information about any website you want and the most popular websites are already listed to get you started, such as Facebook, Google and YouTube. Accounts is where you would put information about your computer password, server password, iTunes and Dropbox. In Email, you can save passwords for Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo or any other email accounts. In Others, you can save things like software license key, calling card numbers or whatever you like.
CoverMe’s secure password manager not only stores passwords, but it can also generate unique, random passwords for you to use. Use CoverMe password manager to safely store all your passwords for you on your phone!

How to Get a Temporary U.S. Phone Number

When you have just met somebody and it comes time to exchange phone numbers, do you give out your real phone number? What if the person you just met turns out to be someone you don’t want to stay in contact with? Giving your real phone number can lead to months and months of unwanted calls and texts. For times like this, it’s useful to have a temporary phone number that you can use and discard easily.

CoverMe can give you a temporary phone number so that you can protect your main phone number and keep it private. This number is just like a real U.S. phone number and you can use it to receive calls, make calls, send and receive SMS. You can call and text anyone, even people who are not using CoverMe.
To get your temporary phone number, download the CoverMe app which is available for iPhone and Android. Open the app, tap “More” on the bottom right corner of the home screen. Tap “CoverMe Phone Numbers” and follow the instructions to choose a U.S. phone number.
Calls and texts that you make with CoverMe private temporary phone number will not show up on your call logs, leaving no trace of your communications. You can also set-up a blacklist to block calls you do not wish to receive.
Calling rates are very low with CoverMe and you can even earn free credits to pay for your calls, making them completely free! The call quality is just as good as traditional phone lines and sometimes the call quality is even better since CoverMe uses a digital VoiP (Voice over Internet Protocal).
You don’t have to limit yourself to one temporary phone number, you can get as many as you want and have a different phone number for different purposes. You can have one number for your business contacts, another one for your friends and another for your family. You can also have a phone number just for making online posts, like on Craigslist.

Private Message to Keep Your Chat from Prying Eyes

How safe are your text messages? Are corporations or the government intercepting your messages and getting information about you? If you had followed the news headlines these last few years then you should know that your text messages are definitely vulnerable to surveillance and that the United States’ NSA has been collecting and storing up to 200 million text messages from citizens around the world each day.
They can gather information about who you talk to, what you’re talking about, your financial account information and even your location.
So what can we do to protect our privacy? We can use an encrypted message app, like CoverMe, to send private messages that can’t be intercepted and read by others.

CoverMe provides end-to-end encryption of messages that are so secure they can only be read by the sender and recipient. CoverMe’s military grade encryption makes it impossible to reconstruct the message without the decryption key which is only available to the recipient.

Not only can you send secure and private messages, but you can also send photos and videos that will be fully encrypted.
To add an extra level of security to your private messages, CoverMe lets you send self-destructing messages that will delete right after the recipient has read the message, or you can have the messages delete after a specified time. You can also remotely recall messages. These message self-destruct and message recall features make it difficult for your recipient to forward your messages.
If you are using your phone in public and don’t want others to see your private information, then you can use a decoy password to enter a different account. Your decoy account is a real account that you create with non-sensitive information that you don’t mind others seeing.
CoverMe’s “shake-to-lock” function lets you quickly activate the lock screen with the shake of your phone. If any intruders tries to break into your phone by guessing your password, your camera’s front facing camera will secretly capture their photo, time and location and store the information for you.

Free Phone Lock App for Android

Many people may only want to lock a few specific apps on their phone (like banking apps) and don’t really like having their entire phone locked, what to do? In addition to being a great app for keeping your calls, text and photos safe, CoverMe is also a free phone lock app for Android where you can choose which apps you want to be locked!

Many of our users know that the CoverMe  app can lock itself after a period of inactivity. If you are using CoverMe and need to put your phone down for a while, the lock screen will be automatically activated after a specified time and will look like a simple photo album. You enter your password and get back in. You can also give your phone a shake and the lock screen will come on. This is a useful feature for times when you are looking at private photos and someone walks in the room.

When you leave CoverMe app running in the background, you will have the added benefit of a free phone lock app. This function can be found in the CoverMe Vault menu. You select which apps you want to lock and you can even select different lock screen photos for each app.

When you open an app that has been locked by CoverMe, you will see the lock screen photo. The password input box is hidden to give an extra level of security. With CoverMe phone lock app, people who try to break into your phone won’t even know where to find the password input box! The password input box will appear when you do a long press for 3 seconds, or double-click the bottom left or bottom right corner.

Even if the intruder breaking into your somehow manages to pull up the password input box, they will only get 4 attempts at guessing your password. Each time an incorrect password is entered, CoverMe will secretly take a picture of the intruder, the date, time and location of the break-in and also what password they guessed.

5 Mobile Phone Security Tips

Computer security is relatively mature and most users know how to protect their personal computers from hackers and virus attacks. However, mobile phone security is a new concept and the risks of not protecting the data on our phones is just as, if not more dangerous.

Mobile phones have become an essential part of our lives, bringing us many conveniences that are hard to live without. Since we usually have our phones with us all the time, we put many important photos, videos, notes and even passwords on our phones, not to mention our text messages, call records and contact information.

Aside from being more careful when we use our phones, what else can we do to improve our mobile phone security? CoverMe suggests 5 tips to improve your mobile phone security.

1. Private calls with no call records: Use CoverMe to make phone calls and they will be protected with 256-bit AES encryption giving a safe and secure call environment that cannot be hacked or intercepted. Also, your call records will not appear on your mobile phone bill, leaving no trace of your call.

2. Address book protection: Save your confidential contacts in CoverMe’s password protected private address book. Private contacts will not be visible or available in your main address book.

3. Self-destructing messages:  CoverMe offers a self-destructing message function for when you need to send very secret text messages, voice messages and photos. To prevent spreading of your information, the message cannot be copied, forwarded or screen captured.

4. Protect your most confidential data in a vault: CoverMe’s Vault can securely store your most private photos, videos, voice recordings, passwords and documents. Unique password protection makes the vault very reliable. Even if you lose your phone, your most important information will not be exposed.

5. Lock your app: After you have stored your confidential data in CoverMe, it is important to implement a lock on the app. If you forget to close CoverMe, the screen will automatically lock. You can also quickly lock the screen by shaking your phone.

Top 4 Encrypted Calling Apps

Smartphones have become an essential part of our lives and we depend on them for much more than making calls. Our private photos, videos and contacts are all stored on our smartphones yet most of us never think that we need to protect these important files.

The iCloud scandal in 2014 showed how easily celebrity photos could be hacked and leaked. Over 26 celebrities had their accounts hacked and their private nude photos were leaked all over the Internet.

Even though the average user may not be as interesting to the world as top celebrities, our private files are just as important to us and we should do all we can to make sure they never get into the wrong hands by using an encrypted calling app.

Here are the top 4 free encrypted calling apps:

1. CoverMe
CoverMe provides military-grade end-to-end encryption for your texts, photos, videos, voice messages and other data. It supports self-destructing messages, message recall and prevents message forwarding. Multiple layers of advanced encryption algorithms make CoverMe resistant to brute force attacks. The decoy function will display fake screens and information if someone tries to access your phone. If the person tries to guess your password, CoverMe will take a picture of them and alert you. Forgotten passwords can be retrieved with multiple levels of security making CoverMe a top-choice encrypted calling app.

2. Telegram
Telegram’s secret chats use end-to-end encryption, support self-destructing messages and don’t allow forwarding. Secret chats are not part of Telegram’s cloud and can only be accessed on the device of origin. However, the Telegram app cannot protect you if someone physically has your phone.

3. Wickr Me
Provides end-to-end encryption of text, video, pictures and voice messages. The “Shredder” function irreversibly removes all deleted data from your device. Recent user feedbacks report that forgotten passwords cannot be retrieved.
